Tonbridge Viz. - at length in the year 1763

A question, arose between inhabitants of this parish, and the worshipful Company of x x inhabitants SKINNERS London; concerning the right of the inhabitants to have their children instructed in the grammar learning, at the free grammar-school founded in this town by Sir Andrew Judd Knight (of which school the said company are governors) and after two memorials relating thereto had been presented by the inhabitants to the Company, the Company came at length to the resolution here under written, an authentick [sic] copy of which resolution, sent by the Company to the vestry-clerk of this parish, is kept in the parish chest, and the same is also here transcrib'd, the better to preserve and x continue the remembrance thereof to posterity. (viz.)
