Sons of God

            Jesus Christ (on the left an icon made fairly recently by Taliadorou Kalliopi, Nicosia/Cyprus) being the Son of God did not come as a surprise to the Greeks and Romans. The gods used to have sons and daughters who were then gods in their own right such as, on the right, Hermes, the son of Zeus. Some say that this Hellenistic-Roman religious tradition is responsible for the deification of the Son of Man (Jesus) - something neither Jews nor Muslims would accept. What did come as a surprise to the ancient world was that Christ the God would offer men and women immortality. One LED daylight lamp and three LED spotlights in a dark room. Processed in Fujifilm's raw converter and macOS High Sierra photo editor.
