The Lake With The Twenty Dollar View

            The Valley of the Ten Peaks was featured on the 1969 and 1979 issues of the Canadian twenty dollar bill.  Easy to see why, it is one of the most iconic and visited destinations in the Canadian Rockies.  

Moraine Lake is only half the size of its nearby neighbor Lake Louise, but even more scenic, in my humble opinion.  

This glacier-fed lake becomes the most intense and vivid shade of turquoise blue. Reflections of the peaks are an international draw for photographers.  Good spots on The Rockpile are generally taken well before daybreak.  Best to get here early.
