Volcanic Sculptures - a photo on Flickriver

Another view from near the top of Smith Rock at sunrise of the varied geo forms and structures created by volcanic upheaval a around 30 million year ago. I find them and their history fascinating.

Taken in May.....wildlfire haze already building on the horizon.

The Bend OR area has so many attractions and beauties. But primarily for me are the many volcanoes nearby and the reminders of past eruptions with the resulting unique volcanic souvenirs, like this, for hundreds of miles in central Oregon

Long may they slumber.
