All the Gear and… - a photo on Flickriver

            One from the other evening. Had an interesting time avoiding taking images of other photographers, who insisted on walking across my path several times! I suppose I was adding to the problem, but there must be an unspoken rule that to walk in front of somebody taking an image must be a no no. anyway, I bit my tong and accepted that I was adding to the crowded beach. Anyway as time went on and the light started to get interesting I found myself next to the offending photographer (who was one of those types that has all the latest gear and still tramples across pristine sand in the knowledge that their vision won’t need that clean bit of beach later… Anyway I asked said photographer if I could nudge in to get a better composition and she said I was in her way. I do accept that I should impose on somebody else’s shot, but it was the tone of voice that broke the camel’s back. I snapped back, “you have been in my shot all evening” to which I received, “what is your camera infrared!” well that last time I checked even infrared photography doesn’t go through rock, but I decided not to take the bait, I had said my piece. But I was wound up by her response. 

Anyway, to end a lovely evening on a positive, as soon as Mrs grumpy headed off (the light was just dipping and it appeared that the main event had gone, I stuck around to enjoy the peace and I made this image. the subtle colours really did come through in the longer exposure and the image had a tranquil feel to it. a good end to an interesting evening…
