Oxford Street Pigeons - a photo on Flickriver

My wife hates pigeons! Flying rats is what she likes to call them. We had stopped on Oxford Street at a stand to get a bottle water. I noticed the girl here feeding the pigeons and snapped a shot. Slowly, more and more pigeons arrived until I would estimate close to 100 were there. The girl went on her merry way and the pigeons chowed down. Not sure what did it, I didn't hear a loud noise at all, but something scared the pigeons and they all flew away. In our direction. My wife ran. Screaming! There were pigeons everywhere!

I grabbed the shot of them flying and had I got it when I pressed the shutter, the frame would have been filled with pigeons! Shutter lag be damned as I think it would have been a cool shot.
