47237_0810_Burton_Salmon - a photo on Flickriver

            47237 heads for South Wales with 6V95, 14:50 Stockton - Cardiff Tidal Sidings scrap metal train and is seen here passing Burton Salmon, 21st October 2008. Originally D1914 it was built in 1965 at Loughborough and entered traffic allocated to Cardiff Canton. It remained a Cardiff engine for twenty two years until transferred to Tinsley in July 1987 where it was to stay for almost eleven years before transferred to Bescot in April 1998. Withdrawn by British Rail in 1999 it was sold to DRS who returned it to operational status in 2003. In December 2007 47237 was sold to Cotswold Rail and was operated under the Advensa Freight branding of Cotswold Rail. With the collapse of Cotswold Rail in October 2009 it was dumped at Gloucester until February 2011 when it was moved to Carnforth for storage and eventual re-instatement to the West Coast Railway Co. fleet.
