Western Tanager Two - a photo on Flickriver

            This is the first time I have seen one of these in my own back yard...I've been working hard to make the garden ornithologically friendly and this time, camera in hand set at 20 power auto I was able to 'freeze' a moment of it's life.  I still had to do a number of manipulations to make it look as spectacular to my eye as he appeared...coming after choke cherry flowers and white lilac both of which I've planted, along with service berries, elderberry, and other local plants, roses, and a wide variety of herbs, bird feeders, and a small area that is like an oasis to a bird traveling in pavement and among houses.
