Meet-Up Notes

            Here are some balsam root blooms near Red Mountain in Central Washington.

This Saturday is the big meet-up at Rowena Crest. A bunch of questions have come up that I'll try to answer here. Of course, feel free to email me if you need something.

I'm planning on arriving at the Rowena parking lot at 5:30 AM on Saturday. I drive a red Honda Pilot SUV. I understand there may be construction on I-84 that may limit access. ODOT's site says that it's lane closures only so hopefully it won't be a problem.

Based on the pictures taken last weekend by Christina and others, it looks like the sun is rising on the north side of the river. That will mean the best sunrise shots will be on the Oregon side but that's up to everyone's interpretation.

The balsam root flowers aren't looking great but the lupines do look excellent at Rowena Crest. The balsams may look better down the hill so you may need to take that into account as you scout your comps.

After the sunrise, I'll go back to the parking area. I think a lot of us are looking forward to meeting up in person.
