Fire in the sky

            The aurora borealis seen from on board the MV Nordkapp as it sailed northwest from Kirkenes in far north Norway.

By the way, I had to abandon my original plan to photograph the northern lights using a tripod and long exposure times because of only seeing the lights while on board a moving ship. So the settings I ended up using were: lens at 16mm, aperture f 3.5, ISO 25,600, shutter speed 0.4 seconds. More details in the EXIF data. For a handheld shot I'm amazed it wasn't more blurred!
