A poem to the Arno

            At the place where I took this picture of the Ponte Vecchio is a plaque inscribed with the following (original in Italian, which I then adapted from a Google translation):

"In this secret place of light the poet stood, Dante scholar, writer, philosopher and humanist, Vittorio Vettori (24 Dec 1920 - 10 Feb 2004), to watch the flow of light on the Arno, flowing with thoughts of the beyond. 
Firenze 21 December 2004.
Institute Mircia Eliade."

I like to think it could also apply to the gentleman in the previous picture.
