Rotterdam - a photo on Flickriver

Rotterdam

I left my mom at the hotel because she was tired after spending the whole day outside. I remembered what she said when I asked her if I could go out for some night shots. "Go! Go! Go! Have fun shooting and enjoy it," with a smile and a proudness were painted on her face.

I sat alone next to AIDAprima cruise boat (google gives the pictures of it), on the other side of the bridge, contemplating the city and the Erasmus bridge through my 24-105 mm. The place was so quiet, there was only a couple of lovers behind me.

There were some mixed feelings settling somewhere inside. The darkness in the air couldn't lie it although the light of the city and Erasmusbrug gave an air of splendor. On one hand I was happy with my day, on other hand, I was wounded too. Even so, inside of me didn't give any permission to complain about my whole journey.
Life it's about finding balance after all.

Staring at this glorious swan which witnesses everyday life and at the same time battles with its own burden, I could feel that the bridge is so happy with its own life. I didn't regret my choice to cross from one side to another, to take a picture of the bridge from both side so that in the end I could leave the place with peace.
