BNSF Santa Fe 696 W&LE 8795 Hiles Siding New London 301 237 6/3/17

            Add the former ATSF 696 to the list of oddball things on the Wheeling in 2017... 696 arrived on W&LE property at New London on Thursday night trailing two orange GE's. After running all the way to Hopedale, Ohio, to get the loaded return train, 696 led the trip back west on train 301. 

The 301 departed the Hanna plant at 7am, and I ended up chasing them from Scio all the way to New London. The 237 from the night before tied down at Hiles siding, and I grabbed a shot of 237 and 301 side by side while the crew checked the fuel gauges. I can think of several other units I would have rather seen on point of 237 but it was a cool meet nonetheless.
