THREE BRIDGES IN SIGHT, ZARAGOZA, 2023

            According to my calculations, the Ebro River, which is one of the longest and mightiest rivers in the Iberian Peninsula, is crossed by a total of 15 bridges and footbridges as it passes through the city of Zaragoza.

In this photo, taken before sunset, you can see three of those bridges, two of them are part of the so-called "Iron Bridge", which is actually triple, as it has three paths, one for pedestrians and two for vehicles, a little further you can see the so-called "Puente de Piedra" and the towers of the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of El Pilar, patron saint of Hispanicity.

The Iron Bridge was one of the first fixed bridges to be built in Zaragoza, since previously there were only pontoons and plank bridges that were often destroyed by the avenues of the Ebro.

When the Iron Bridge was built at the end of the 19th century, it only existed as a fixed structure for the transit of people and vehicles, which is called "Puente de Piedra" built in the 15th century, although apparently a similar structure already existed in the of the Roman Empire. TRES PUENTES A LA VISTA, ZARAGOZA, 2023

Según mís cálculos, el río Ebro, que es uno de los ríos más largos y caudalosos de la Península Ibérica, es cruzado por un total de 15 puentes y pasarelas a su paso por la ciudad de Zaragoza.

En esta foto, hecha antes de la puesta de Sol, se pueden ver tres de esos puentes, dos de ellos forman parte del llamado "Puente de Hierro", que en realidad es triple, pues tiene tres caminos, uno para peatones y dos para vehículos, un poco más lejos se ve el llamado "Puente de Piedra" y las torres de Basílica Catedral de Nuestra Señora de EL Pilar, patrona de la Hispanidad.

El Puente de Hierro fue uno de los primeros puentes fijos que se construyeron en Zaragoza, pues anteriormente tan solo había pontones y puentes de tablas que a menudo se veían destruidos por las avenidas del Ebro.

Cuando se construyó el Puente de Hierro a finales del siglo XIX, tan solo existía como estructura fija para el tránsito de personas y vehículos que es llamado "Puente de Piedra" construido en el siglo XV, aunque al parecer ya existía una estructura similar en época del Imperio Romano.
