TRENZA DE ALMUDEVAR, 2024

            La "Trenza" de Almudevar (Almudevar "Braid") is a piece of flaky pastry with butter, weighing approximately 500 grams (1.10 pounds), filled with a special yolk, walnuts, slivered almonds and dough macerated in rum.

It is usually covered with a layer of icing sugar and a crunchy texture.

It began to be made in a town in the Spanish province of Huesca, Aragon, in the 80s, called Almudevar.

Apparently the pastry chefs were inspired by pieces that were made in Central Europe (Germany and Austria).

La Trenza de Almudevar es una pieza de bollería hojaldrada con mantequilla, de un peso de unos 500 grs aproximadamente, rellena con una yema especial, nueces, almendras fileteadas y masas maceradas al ron. Se le suele cubrir con una capa de azúcar glaseado y una textura crujiente.

Comenzó a elaborarse en un pueblo de la española provincia de Huesca, Aragón, en los años 80, de nombre Almudévar

Al parecer los pasteleros se inspiraron en piezas que se elaboraban en Europa Central (Alemania y Austria).
