I was in NYC for the launch of Nikon's new family members... the Z7 and Z6.  Along with the amazing new cameras there were several new additions to the NIKKOR line-up.  I got my hands on the Z7, the 35mm f/1.8 S, 24-70mm f/4 S and the ZTN lens connector.

On the way to the airport, I had the morning to mess around with the new stuff.  

First impressions:  

1) LOVE the feel of the grip and ergonomics.  

2) I didn't think I'd like the EVF... really hate the others I've used... I like this one.  Not sure if I love it yet, but we are friends and it is still growing on me.  I guess it helps that the optics in front of the eye-level LED are NIKKOR and sharp!

3) LOVE the way it fits in my bag.  Batteries, lenses, accessories all work.

4) LOVE the connector.  My 300mm PF, 105mm f/1.4 and 60mm micro... only ones I've tried so far... work the same as on the D850.  I think that Nikon figured a way to hotrod the sensor, because I'd swear that the 105mm looks better on the Z7 than on the D850.

5) The (CIPA) rating seems a bit off.  The camera currently has 661 images and 67% remaining on the initial charge.  (Kind of mimics what I've been hearing from other who have actually shot the camera.)
