Das Faltfestbrückensystem (FFB) wurde zwischen 1998 und 2000 in 10 Einheiten an die Bundeswehr ausgeliefert. Das FFB erlaubt die stützenfrei Überbrückung von Gewässern mittlerer Größe. Es schließt damit die Lücke zwischen der Panzerschnellbrücke, die nur für kurze Überbrückungsdistanzen geeignet ist, und den Schwimmbrücken, deren Einsatz größere Wassertiefen erfordert. Die modulare Bauweise der FFB erlaubt Brückenweiten von 14 bis 54 m. Über die geschlossene Fahrbahn von 4,40 m Breite können Kettenfahrzeuge bis MLC 70 und Radfahrzeuge bis MLC 35 passieren .

Eine FFB-Einheit besteht aus zwei Verlege- und fünf Transportfahrzeugen, die jeweils auf dem Fahrgestell des MAN Lkw 15t mil gl (8x8) KAT I A1.1 aufbauen, sowie einem Zehn-Tonnen-Lkw und einem Aufbaugerätesatz

The Faltfestbrückensystem (FFB) was delivered between 1998 and 2000 in 10 units to the Bundeswehr. The FFB allows the support free bridging of medium sized waters. It thus closes the gap between the armored quick bridge, which is only suitable for short bridging distances, and the floating bridges, the use of which requires greater water depths. The modular design of the FFB allows bridge widths of 14 to 54 m. Tracked vehicles up to MLC 70 and wheeled vehicles up to MLC 35 can pass through the 4.40 m wide lane.

One FFB unit consists of two laying vehicles and five transport vehicles, each of which is mounted on the chassis of the MAN truck 15t mil (8x8) CAT I A1.1, as well as a ten-tonne truck and a bodywork kit
