As Seen From Bald Hill - a photo on Flickriver

            The Sydney to Melbourne XPT service treats the passengers to an unusual (and spectacular) view of the Tasman Sea as it winds through the curves above Stanwell Park. This shot was taken from Bald Hill lookout, near Otford. The impressive Seacliff Bridge can be seen to the left of the shot, with Wollongong in the distance.

The first weekend in January saw NSW TrainLink XPT services diverted via Wollongong due to trackwork in the Sydney suburban area. This used to be a regular occurrence during such annual trackwork, although this proved to be uneconomical, with the XPT services being terminated at Goulburn in recent years, and passengers transferred to road coaches to Sydney.
