Butterfly dinner - Schmetterlings Abendessen

Großes Ochsenauge - meadow brown (Maniola jurtina)

Today I'm taking a break with fields full of flowers. There are so many other beautiful, cool and interesting things to see out there.
How about, for example, the incredibly long tongue of a butterfly? Interested?
Then zoom into the picture and take a close look at the meadow brown (that's what the butterfly is called). Normally this approx. 2 cm high butterfly is more brown than orange. But the warm evening sun lets it shine here.
By the way, the flower this little guy is having dinner on is oregano. This plant is extremely popular with all kinds of insects and is always well visited.

Heute mach ich erst einmal eine Pause mit Felder voller Blumen. Es gibt ja noch so viele andere schöne, coole und interessante Sachen zu sehen dort draußen.
Wie wäre es zum Beispiel einmal mit der unfassbar langen Zunge eines Schmetterlings ? Interessiert ?
Dann zoomt mal ins Bild hinein und schaut Euch mal das Großen Ochsenauge (so heißt der Schmetterling) aus der Nähe an. Normalerweise ist dieser ca. 2 cm hohe Schmetterling mehr braun als orange. Doch die warme Abensonne lässt ihn hier erstrahlen.
Bei der Blüte, auf der dieser kleine Kerl gerade zu Abend ißt handelt es sich übrigens um Oregano. Diese Pflanze ist extrem beliebt bei allerlei Insekten und immer gut besucht.
