Rocks in the fog - Felsen im Nebel (explore #217)

Another photo from my morning on the edge of the land of Mordor (of course we are still in Saxony on the small Winterberg in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and not in Middle Earth). In this case we moved a little closer to the rock "Hinteres Raubschloss" (Rear Robbery Castle) on the left, which in my opinion even increases the drama of the scene.
If you look closely you can even see a white information board on the upper plateu of the rock from here. The medieval Winterstein Castle was once located at this point, although we can no longer see much of it today, as it was built in 1379. And at that time, construction here was still mainly made of wood. And so the complex didn't last too long and by 1450 it had already fallen into disrepair.
But regardless of this, this rock is still a worthwhile excursion destination that you can still climb with the help of long ladders.

Ein weiteres Foto von meinem Morgen am Rande des Landes Mordor (natürlich sind wir immernoch in Sachsen auf dem kleinen Winterberg im Elbsandsteingebirge und nicht in Mittelerde). In diesem Fall sind wir etwas näher an den Felsen Hinteres Raubschloss (links) gerückt, was die Dramatik der Szene nach meiner Meinung sogar noch etwas verstärkt.
Wenn Ihr genau hin seht könnt Ihr von hier aus sogar eine weiße Infotafel auf dem oberen Plateu des Felsen erkennen. An dieser Stelle befand sich einst die mitelalterliche Burg Winterstein, von der ist allerdings heute nicht mehr so viel erkennen kann, denn gebaut wurde sie bereits 1379. Und zu diesem Zeitpunkt baute man hier noch überwiegend aus Holz. Und so hielt die Anlage auch nicht allzu lange und war um 1450 bereits wieder verfallen.
Doch unabhängig davon ist auch dieser Felsen ein lohnenswertes Ausflugsziel den man noch immer, mit Hilfe von langen Leitern, erklimmen kann.
