This Makes Me So Mad - a photo on Flickriver

A quarter-mile into my hike, I spotted a red box, partially hidden by a log, twenty feet off the trail. Upon closer inspection, I found empty bottles, bottle caps, and a bag scattered about. The sight of it made me so mad.

I was tempted to discard it all right then, but decided to continue hiking instead. That was a mistake. The thought of the disrepectful litterbugs plagued me the entire time. After I finished my loop, I decided to do something about it.

I ventured back up the Merry-Go-Round trail, used an empty Clif Bar wrapper as an impromptu glove, tossed everything in the bag, carried it back to the Sprig Day Use Lot, and dumped it in a garbage can.

Of course, it would have been more appropriate (and satisfying) if I could have dumped the trash on the beds of the offenders and painted these words on the walls, "Leave No Trace".
