Mass in St Alysious - a photo on Flickriver

            St Aloysius' Church was built in 1910 to a late Renaissance design by the Belgian architect Charles Menart, who designed a number of other churches in Scotland at about the same time.The marble cladding and interior decoration was not carried out until 1927. Ernest Schaufelburg, an Austrian, was the architect for the work which made St Aloysius one of the most finely decorated churches in the City of Glasgow. The church is open all day every day for private prayer, mass, confession / reconciliation and other religious services.

Opening Hours
The church is open every day of the week from early morning until 6.30pm, and on Sundays until 10pm.The church is in the care of the Society of Jesus – the Jesuit Order – and many Jesuit motifs and Saints are depicted throughout the church.Built in 1908 – this is our Centenary Year – the red sandstone building has a campanile 150 feet high and a nave span of 44 feet and was built by a Belgian architect and the interior marble designed and installed by an Austrian architect in 1927.
