120/365 - a photo on Flickriver

120/365

Today was a wierd day, I was awoken to my alarm going off at 6:00 a.m. with hopes to capture a magnificent sunrise. But I was still too tired from going to bed around 1:30 a.m. as I didn't work til later on in the afternoon. I went back to bed and then was awoken from my dream, that the fact my girlfriend was calling. We talked for about 15 minutes but I ended up going back to bed after a short conversation. I slept in til 11ish, which is quite late for me (at least the last week 11ish is late): But then proceeded to laze around the house watching CSI.

While CSI was on a commercial break the screen went black and the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch, meaning conditions were ripe for tornados. I went outside, nothing seemed to be out of the norm but CSI did not come back on. So I brought my camera along to work with the hope that I could capture some cool cloud formations or hail or something of that nature tonight. Although that wasnt the case and I captured was lots of heavy rain on my fifteen minute break I kept up hope that maybe later in the evening I would catch a break of another kind.

I went back out on lunch to put my camera away when I saw this nice old caddy parked next to me. The reflection is what drew my eye to it, so I pulled off the lens cap and started snapping away. Not sure as to who owned the car I had to make quick work with what I had, boosting my ISO up to 800 as the light was very poor. I used the side of the car to brace my hand as a tripod composing on the run hoping to get a shot I could use today. I am still suprised that the D2h performs so well at ISO800 on the basis of if the conditons are right the noise is kept to a miniumum.
