            Although we are still struggling with Luan's high blood sugar values, his insulin injections and blood tests, Luan doesn't give the impression of a "sick" cat at the moment. He eats well, is quite active and spends more time outdoors on the decking again, which is something he had almost given up for a couple of weeks. I take this as a good sign and hope that it's just a question of time (and patience) until we get the diabetes under control. The good news is that Luan was cooperative and used the special cat litter from the vet which allowed me to obtain a urine sample. The bad news is that he really seems to have a cystitis and has to receive antibiotics again but it doesn't make sense to only adapt the insulin dose while it's likely that the cystitis influences the effect of the insulin.
