Pisa, Complesso munumentale di Piazza dei Miracoli -Pisa, monumental complex of Piazza dei Miracoli.
Una fotografia così, senza il contorno dei turisti che affollano Piazza dei Miracoli di Pisa dalla mattina presto fino alla sera tardi, non sarebbe possibile in epoche normali, ma con la pandemia da Covid-19 che obbliga tutti gli italiani a rimanere a casa e i turisti a non viaggiare, ciò mi è stato possibile. Bene architettonico protetto dall'UNESCO, il complesso è formato da il Duomo o Cattedrale, la Torre Pendente, il Battistero e il Camposanto monumentale su un bel prato verde e ben curato, appunto denominato da Gabriele D'Annunzio, campo dei Miracoli. L'area non fu di origine medievale, ma etrusca e romana avendo in antichità ad est uno sbocco portuale; reperti archeologici hanno recentemente evidenziato resti di una domus romana. La piazza trasformò il proprio uso civile im quello religioso che tutt'ora possiede. Il Duomo di Pisa venne eretto nel 1063 e intitolato a Santa Maria Maggiore, oggi Santa Maria Assunta; all'epoca Pisa era una città assai benestante essendo Repubblica marinara; il Duomo venne costruito ad opera dell'architetto Buscheto in originale stile architettonico religioso Romanico Pisano. La Torre, divenuta pendente nel corso della sua costruzione, venne iniziata nel 1173 ed attribuita a Bonanno Pisano anche se altre tesi danno come architetto costruttore Diotisalvi, lo stesso che aveva progettato e realizzato il battistero dedicato a San Giovanni Battista.
Such photography, without the outline of the tourists who crowd Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa from early morning to late evening, would not be possible in normal times, but with the Covid-19 pandemic that forces all Italians to stay at home and tourists not to travel, that was possible for me. Architectural asset protected by UNESCO, the complex is made up of the Duomo or Cathedral, the Leaning Tower, the Baptistery and the monumental Cemetery on a beautiful green and well-kept lawn, called field of Miracles by Gabriele D'Annunzio. The area was not of medieval origin, but Etruscan and Roman having in ancient times a port outlet to the east; archaeological finds have recently highlighted the remains of a Roman domus. The square transformed its civil use into the religious one it still has today. The Cathedral of Pisa was built in 1063 and dedicated to Santa Maria Maggiore, today Santa Maria Assunta; at the time Pisa was a very wealthy city being a maritime republic; the Cathedral was built by the architect Buscheto in the original Pisan Romanesque religious architectural style. The Tower, which became leaning during its construction, was begun in 1173 and attributed to Bonanno Pisano even if other theses give Diotisalvi as architect builder, the same who designed and built the baptistery dedicated to San Giovanni Battista.
