It Looks Like a Wild Chinchilla - a photo on Flickriver

The Chinchilla look-a-like is the endangered Delmarva Fox Squirrel. It only is found on the peninsula where DELaware, MARyland and Virginia (VA) have split the land.
I saw one being stalked by a Red-tailed Hawk. And I have to say that the squirrels may look dumb and slow around cars but the one I watched never exposed itself without a quick escape route. The hawk gave up after about ten minutes of changing perches and angles.
