Enlisted Service Uniform
The Women's Army Corps (WAC) started in May 1942 as the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps WAAC working with but not part of the Army. In 1943, they became the Women's Army Corps, a part of the Army allowing the women to receive the same benefits as male soldiers. Originally WACS were assigned to do mostly clerical work. Over time the Army and Army Air Forces started to train WACs for various specialty jobs such as drivers, lab techs, mechanics, electricians, weather forecasters, photo analysts, control tower operators, technicians, parachute riggers, photographers, and many other jobs. Over 150, 000 women served in the WAAC and WAC, many of them overseas in Europe and the Pacific.

The WAC enlisted uniform was a similar style, color, and fabric as the men's enlisted uniform. The jacket and shirts were styled and cut for women and a skirt was worn instead of trousers. This uniform was worn by an unknown Technician 4th Grade assigned to the Western Pacific Command. Due to a shortage of tropical uniforms, women often wore these woolen service uniforms in theater.
