Introducing Lollipop! - a photo on Flickriver

            Meet Lollipop! She's a 33 year old mini mare. She and her 22yo QH friend Champagne joined Helping Hearts Equine Rescue, Inc. this week. These senior ladies were loved and cared for by their senior owners, who reached out for assistance when they could no longer properly tend to them due to their own health issues. Both mares lived a very sheltered life in a back yard for the past 17 years. Lollipop is even brighter and cuter in person, but she needs some maintenance work to keep her comfortable. I give everyone at HHER a lot of credit for how they handle their rescue cases, and this one in particular. Not every rescue case is a scary photo and a horrible story. Both the horses and their owners needed help, and everyone is being treated with compassion and dignity.
