Former Safeway located at 939 South Oxnard Blvd. in Oxnard,CA. The building is currently occupied by a Pep Boys. Note Safeway opened this 18,636 square foot store on October 19th 1950.
In 1965 Safeway closed this store, and the building was acquired by Pep Boys which opened on June 23rd 1966 and is still operating as of February 2024.
Its also worth noting despite having operated for a mere fifteen years the store had the distinction of being the largest Safeway location in the entire chain at the time of its opening.
On a final note the building still retains a few architectural holdovers from Safeway, with the most notable being the pylon tower.
