The pools at the "cotton Castle", the calcarian formation of the ancient Hierapolis, at Pamukkale.

            Some more from the ascent to Hierapolis. 
Some years ago this pools were nearly destroyed as some Hotels were build right there and were taking the mineral waters for their private pools. Recently, the Turkish government take action, the hotels were destroyed and the pools "rebuild", or just "petted" to let nature do its work. For this reason, now the water are distributed to one side to another of the "Cotton Castle", during some days, the water flows allowing the deposition... but then the terraces became yellow. In this moment, the waters are derived to another area allowing the sun to "bleach" the terraces, making them this beautiful. We were really fortunate as when we go, the terraces of the main entrance were full  of water and beautifully white!
