Freiheit der Presse / Freedom of the press

            Die Freiheit der Presse ist eines der wichtigsten Merkmale einer demokratischen Gesellschaft. In den Jahren und Monaten vor März 1848 wurde sie in Österreich vorübergehend zu Grabe getragen, weil der damalige Polizeistaat Alles und Jeden kontrollierte und die Zensur weitgreifend und unerbittlich war. In den letzten Jahren konnte in vielen Ländern, auch mit demokratischen Gesellschafts-Systemen wie in Österreich, beobachtet werden, daß der Griff der Politik nach der Bewegungsfreiheit der Medien wiederum zu einem eisernen Würgegriff wurde. Nachrichtenkontrolle und Mediengleichschaltung sind die aktuellen Folgen. Leute, achtet auf die Zeichen und erhebt Eure Stimmen für die Freiheit ! Es ist leider wieder nötig geworden !

Freedom of the press is one of the most important features of a democratic society. In the years and months before March 1848, it was temporarily laid to rest in Austria because the police state of the time controlled everything and everyone and the censorship was far-reaching and relentless.
