Mühlrather Mühle

Watermill near Schwalmtal, Nature Park Schwalm-Nette, Germany, North Rhine-Westphalia.

This mill, first documented in 1447, is the only one on the River
Schwalm, which can show two water wheels, one is built of wood, the second was built in 1905 made of iron. In 1937 the grinding business was stopped. Until 1960 the mill was still operated as a sawmill. Since then, the Mühlrather Mühle has been used as an excursion restaurant and restaurant on the Hariksee. An electric generator for electricity generation has been operated with the iron wheel since 1995. The wooden wheel was renewed true to the original in 2002.
