Mine Tailings / Robinson Mine - a photo on Flickriver

            Mine Tailings from the Robinson Mine. This open-pit mine produces cooper and a small amount of gold from a low-grade deposit in quartz monzonite, Operations began here in 1907 and have continued with occasional closures and changes of ownership until the present. Since 2012, the property has been owned by the Polish company, Polish KGHM Polska Miedz. The pit is one of the largest in the world. Since its inception, the mine has produced more than 4 billion pounds of copper. Robinson District. Ruth, White Pine Co., Nevada.
