The 1857 E. & G. G. Hook Organ, Opus 223 ♫ George Whitefield Methodist Church – West Brookfield, Massachusetts

            Organ façade and case details. The organ was originally built for the First Unitarian Church at the corner of 6th and D Streets in Washington, DC. Disassembled and moved from DC to Bridgeport, CT and possibly placed in storage for a time. In 1884 or 1885 the organ was then, installed with its original wind chests, pipe work and case by Hook & Hastings into the West Brookfield Methodist Church, West Brookfield, Massachusetts. Hook & Hastings did not assign a new opus to the instrument. The organ is a mechanical action (tracker) instrument with 2 manuals and pedal. It has 12 ranks with 607 pipes.
