" Leptopsammia pruvoti" - a photo on Flickriver

            A bright yellow solitary coral that attaches to a hard substrate. With retractile tentacles with clusters of cnidocytes. Circular in section, narrower at the base. Several polyps may be found clustered on the same base, which in turn may have an orange colour in some individuals.
On hard substrates in caves or shady ledges, due to its weakness in light exposure. Distributed in the Mediterranean and south of the British Isles.

Coral solitario de un color amarillo brillante que se fija a un sustrato duro. Con tentáculos retráctiles con agrupaciones de cnidócitos. De sección circular, es más estrecho de la base. Se pueden encontrar varios pólipos agrupados en una misma base, que a su vez puede tener un color anaranjado en algunos individuos.
Sobre sustratos duros en cuevas o salientes sombreados, debido a su debilidad en la exposición de luz. Con una distribución por el mediterráneo y al sur de las islas británicas.
