Sunning Butterfly - a photo on Flickriver

Sunning Butterfly

Usually butterflies are clicked in the macro mode, but this photo was clicked with the full 18X zoom (3M) of the Lumix FZ8. Happened to see this butterfly on a teak tree, growing in the front garden, from my bedroom window. It was sunning itself after a shower and was well over 20 feet from where I stood. This is the Crimson Rose (atrophaneura hector), a large swallowtail butterfly belonging to the subgenus Pachliopta (Roses) of the Red-bodied Swallowtails (genus Atrophaneura).
