1974 VOLKSWAGEN Karmann-Ghia Typ 14 Softtop Cabriolet

            The Karmann-Ghia Typ 14 was presented in July 1955 as a coupé version. Two years later the cabriolet was added.
It's not clear who really designed this car. It is presumed that Felice Mario Boano and his son Gian Paolo were the designers. They were inspired by Chrysler designer Virgil Exner. But Luigi Segre built the prototype at Carrozzeria Ghia, Torino. He had great influence on the final shape.
In the course of the years minor changes and innovations were executed.
A major change at the outside were bigger bumpers, indicators and rear lights in 1972.
The VW Typ 14 was replaced by the new 1974 Scirocco.
