1965 VOLKSWAGEN Typ 34 Karmann-Ghia 1600 Coupé

            In 1961 a bigger and stronger variant of the VW Beetle was presented: the Typ 3 VW 1500 2-door ponton saloon. This type 3 formed the base for a new developed coupé version, which was launched in 1962.
The Typ 34 1600 coupé was styled by Sergio Sartorelli at Carrozzeria Ghia, Torino and built by Karmann, Osnabrück.
In August 1965 the engine increased from 1493 cc to 1585 cc.
There was never built a cabriolet version on the Typ 34, and it was neven officially marketed in the USA.
