1956 VOLVO PV445 Duett Long Version

            In addition to a passenger car, Volvo decided in 1949 to make a station wagon based on the PV444. It was named PV445.
Because the PV444 had a monocle body Volvo had to develop a chassis to build the station car on. Till 1953 external coach builders produced the station car.
Note the wide rear wings taken from the PV444. For 1953 they disappeared at Volvo factory made cars, except for external manufactured special versions. 
Since 1953 the name Duett was also used for the estate models.

I photographed this special PV445 at a classic car fair, Autotron Rosmalen. It could have been an ambulance or a hearse because of its unusual length.
The owner claimed that the were only three of these PV445 models in NL.
The asking prize was DFL 8950,-
