BOOK CLUB WITH BRIGID:

In the midst of the end of the world, my friend Isaac is releasing his new book, The Burning World -- the sequel to Warm Bodies.

You can order an advance copy here: isaacmarion.com -- or you can grab it in your local bookstore on Tuesday.

I sweet-talked him into an advance copy, and it's been my beautiful escape all week. He's taken the world he created and made it so much richer. The story is engaging and intriguing. It's end-of-worldie enough to not feel frivolous right now, but different from our own living armageddon that it still feels like an escape. And the prose is so beautiful that sometimes I'm struck with a great ennui about my own capacity as a writer (thanks a lot).

I'm lucky to have incredibly talented friends who keep me inspired. I love to see them succeed....so I can live vicariously :D. I'm still working to get my own book(s) published; seeing Isaac do well is my best reminder that this is a real, achievable dream.

Anyhow, if you're planning to get this book (or the whole series if you haven't read them), you can help out by getting your copy early. First week sales are a huge factor in the success of a book, as they get it onto bestseller lists like the New York Times, Amazon, B+N etc.
