            The folks at Expique (the people who run this night tuk tuk tour) were right- some of those old temples do look gorgeous at night!  These small needle spired chedis are all actually part of Phra Chedi Rai which contain the ashes of members of the royal family. Apart from the gargantuan Reclining Buddha (now closed for the night) and a gorgeous gold plated squatting Buddha and a large standing Buddha, all of which we will see by day later in this album, (see subsequent pictures in this album), Wat Pho is also considered to be the origin of traditional Thai massage, and on Sundays, school children are taught the finder aspects of Thai culture like classical dance, traditional music, painting and the fine arts. Known also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, Wat Pho in Bangkok is  also the largest temple in Bangkok. The temple is first on the list of six temples in Thailand classed as the highest grade of the first-class royal temples. More notes as we go along in this album. (Bangkok, Thailand, Oct. 2018)
