The soft drinks vendor adds a human element

            I am in the Thonburi district of Bangkok, checking out the obscure Kudi Chin hidden community where I had been surprised to see a church in this neck of the woods. The Santa Cruz Roman Catholic church (see previous pictures earlier in this album) was closed. My guide and I are now walking around the church towards the Baan Kudi Chin museum when this soft drinks vendor suddenly appeared, adding a human element to an otherwise deserted spot. That aside, I was really taken aback at the typical Indian appearance of this Thai vendor, leading me to think that his descendants had probably been brought in by the Portuguese from Goa, India, which had been a Portuguese enclave in the past.
