Colourful prayer flags put up due to a local festival

            Typically Buddhist colourful prayer flags being put up in the grounds of Wat Pho temple in Bangkok, Thailand. These are for a Buddhist festival which was coming up in a couple of days time. In the background is the Sala Karn Parien, a shrine next to the Phra Mondop at the southwest corner of the compound. The Sala Kaarn Parien is thought to date back from the Ayutthaya period and serves as a learning and meditation hall. The building contains the original Buddha image from the bot which was moved to make way for the Buddha image currently in the bot. Next to Sala Karn Parien is a garden called The Crocodile Pond, which I did not photograph. (Bangkok, Thailand, Oct. 2018)
