Statue of the Hindu god Brahma at the Thai Buddhist temple in Ipoh

            Statue of the Hindu god Brahma just outside the main shrine of the Wat Siribunyamagaram Thai Buddhist temple in Ipoh. Brahma is a Hindu god, commonly referred to by Hindus as the Creator. Despite this, there are just a handful of temples in India dedicated to Brahma- barring about half a dozen in India, almost all temples dedicated to Brahma are outside of India, notably in SE Asia. Back to the temple here,  Wat Siribunyamagaram is a neatly maintained Thai Buddhist temple and monastery on Jalan Dihilir close to the heart of Ipoh City. The temple is known colloquially as Tambun Siamese Temple, being close to the Tambun district near Ipoh. (Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia, Sept. 2023)
