Backpacker Central- and lunch - a photo on Flickriver

            Khao San Road and its environs is Backpacker Central in BKK. Here two British ladies tuck into a meal in a hotel restaurant. I was planted on the next table. Fixed meals were offered for a fixed 'promo' price. Tyipcally Thai dishes, I somehow found the portions rather small. Ordering a la carte would almost double what one  would spend on food. Bangkok is one place where street food is cheap and immensely popular among locals as well as travelers. (Bangkok, Thailand, Oct. 2008)
