Checking out the buffet - a photo on Flickriver

            I've photographed TONS of Black-crowned Night Herons at home, but was not expecting to see one in a koi pond at a hotel in Hawaii.  A gardner at the hotel told me that the heron, a wood duck and several mallards just showed up one day and decided to stay.  Smart birds!  Black-crowned Night Heron in a koi pond, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, Hawai'i.
