Images of War/Robert Capa - a photo on Flickriver

            these G.I.s are wearing the camouflaged uniform introduced during the Normandy campaign ( this photo was taken by Robert Capa at the time of Operation Cobra ). Owing to 'friendly fire' incidents in which such uniforms were mistaken for those of the Waffen-SS, they were subsequently withdrawn from issue.
