A stellar night out at Mono Lake Tufas.

            Traveling through the Eastern Sierra is a photographer's delight and a stop at Mono lake makes it even more dazzling. I got an opportunity to explore this area over few hours and couldn't stop appreciating the otherworldly beauty these tiny or really mighty tufas offered. I could see sculptural patterns emerge like what you may see in ruins of a temple or an archaeological excavation site, something that remote. To add to the fun, time can really freeze here and distant howling sounds can scare the shit out of you. It made me point my headlamp in random directions only to realize the presence of black-tailed jackrabbits around me :).
Over the course of this night into the early morning, I shot many foregrounds and looked for a level ground to track the Milkyway. This is a blend of multiple shots which are tracked and stacked at various intervals of time. Spent some time bringing them together using a couple of different tools like Nebulosity, Helicon Focus, PT Gui, LR and PS. Shot with Fuji X-T2, 10-24mm and 18-55mm. Milkyway tracked using iOptron SkyTracker Pro.
