Third Time's the Charm? - a photo on Flickriver

A friend and co-worker of mine saw the original hanging in my office and asked if I'd make him a print. So I opened the file and uploaded it to the lab I use all the time. When I picked it up, I was really disappointed -- it looked horrible. Soft, poor resolution and full of color aberration. Had I been fooling myself into thinking it was a good shot for a year and a half? Apparently. I did have the original RAW file, but never saved the PSD with all the adjustments, so I basically had to start from scratch and eyeball it and until I liked how it looked.

This isn't perfect, but hopefully I've learned a lot more about post processing with this version. To me, the improvement in sharpening alone is like night and day. The colors are definitely warmer on the other one, and the contrast looks heavier and more pronounced here on flickr than it did in the print, but I think it was worth another stab at it.

Working in NX2 this time was much faster than the go round with CS2 -- but I don't think I'll ever master either one.
