The Rock - a photo on Flickriver

The Rock

Here's a second attempt at shooting Roche Rock after passing it a couple of times in the lorry I drive for work.

On my first attempt two weeks ago, a flat, grey sky with flat light scuppered my shot. Today though, despite low cloud blotting out the light of the sunrise, I still had some blue colour and cloud definition in the sky to work with.

I used a Lee Soft Grad Filter to balance the tones and bring out definition in the sky - with a Lee Big Stopper to extend the exposure to 2 minutes in order to streak the clouds for a more artistic shot.
